    Alumni Pep Band Invited to Perform at the 

    38th Annual Boone County

    WVU Alumni Friends Pig Roast

    The Alumni Band has been invited to perform during the event. The pig roast helps to raise funds for local students attending WVU! It is open to all band alumni and their families. Alumni Band members playing in the pep band are FREE but guests need to register in advance for their ticket by Monday, July 7th.

    The WVU Alumni Band Performance Registration is open through Wednesday, July 9, 2025. A detailed schedule is forthcomingRegister with us today so you don't miss out participating in the performance.

    Equipment/Instrument Rental

    We are working to provide rental equipment for this event. Please be sure to complete the rental section of the form if you are in need of equipment. NOTE THAT THERE IS NO FEE FOR EQUIPMENT. WE DO ASK THAT YOU PLEASE READ AND AGREE TO THE TERMS. Please reserve your equipment by Monday, July 7, 2025. After that date we cannot guarantee availability. See rental agreement here.

    2025 Boone County WVU Alumni & Friends Pig Roast Registration for family members

    2025 TBT Basketball Tournament

    Charleston, WV

     

    The WVU Alumni Band has been invited to play for the Best Virginia team in the 2025 TBT Basketball Tournament. The tournament organizers provided specific guidance for participants. Please be sure to read through the details below concerning the full event. Registration is required for participation.

    Schedule

    The opening session will be Friday, July 18th. Should Best Virginia win, they would play the following Sunday afternoon, July 20th and then again Tuesday evening, July 22nd if they advance. We will not know the official time slots until approximately two weeks before the tourney and will provide that information as soon as possible. The following is a TENTATIVE outline based on our 2022 experience in Charleston.

    • Friday, July 18 – tipoff is at 6pm or 8pm against Marshall Herd. Call time for rehearsal in the warmup room is one hour and 15 minutes prior to tipoff for rehearsal and then set up in the arena. Please enter the building through the loading dock.
    • Sunday, July 20 (if we win Friday) - tipoff will be at 3pm or 5pm. Call time will be one hour prior to tipoff.
    • Tuesday, July 22 (if we win Sunday) tipoff is at 7pm. Call time will be 6pm.

    PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THIS IS A TENTATIVE SCHEDULE. We will know more when the TBT releases the line up.

    Note: Each performance is dependent on the number of members registered to perform.  When registration closes, an updated performance schedule will be posted.

    Tickets and Guests

    The event is FREE for those participating in the pep band. Guests are welcome to purchase a ticket (https://tbthoops.com/tickets/west-virginia/). Guests will be seated with the general public. Non-pep band members will not be permitted in the music area. 

    Attire

    • Blue gig shirt
    • Kahki pants
    • White Headwear (Alumni Member choice of Ballcap, Visor, Toboggan, Headband; Appropriate at discretion of AB Directors.)

    Please try to wear an official WVU Alumni Band T-shirt (available at our online merchandise store).

    Equipment/Instrument Rental

    If you have need of an instrument (for example, tuba, percussion, etc.) and do not have access to it through your personal resources, please let us know and we will try to provide it for you (see registration form)

    Warm-up/Music

    The pep band members will be taken to a staging area upon arrival. There will be some time to run through the tunes. Music can be found on the WVU Alumni Band website (www.wvualumniband.org) under your instrument section after you log in.

    Parking/Facility Entrance

    Alumni Band members are encouraged to park at Charleston Town Center or the Beni Kedem Temple lot next door to the Civic Center Coliseum. We will have LIMITED loading dock area parking at the Civic Center for Percussion, Tubas, etc. If you have need of this area, please reach out to Ellen Ramey the week before the event.

    Registration/Deadline

    The registration deadline is Noon on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Event organizers have requested a list of attendees be passed to them that same day.
